The famous Chinese Choreographer Yang Li-Ping brings us the successful performance “Under Siege” that was exhibited in London last October and got both the audience and critics adored reviews.

Ambition. Loyalty. Betrayal and eternal love are at the heart of the fascinating story, also known as “Farewell to the Concubine,” which depicts the bloody battle between the armies of the ancient Han and Chu kingdoms, which changed the face of Chinese history, and has been immortalized in countless works of opera, music, literature and theater, but this is the first time it appears in such a grandiose contemporary version, in a breathtaking work that combines contemporary dance, hip-hop, opera and live music.

Academy Award and BAFTA winner Tim Yip from Hong Kong and international artist Bai-Li Liu have joined forces on the spectacular stage design, and the cast – consisting of Peking Opera soloists, hip-hop dancers, contemporary dance and musicians – is a thrilling discovery.

“A beautiful and breathtaking bloodbath.” (Financial Times, 2016)

“A stunning production.” (Evening Standard, 2016)

“A work with a fascinating cinematic quality.” (The Stage, 2016)

“The most spectacular production of the year.” (The Guardian, 2016)
