For the first time in Israel! A contemporary, virtuosic and acrobatic dance performance, full of energy and creativity, created from a collaboration between French choreographer Mourad Marzouki and a group of 11 young dancers from Rio de Janeiro, after they met five years ago at a street performance at the Lyon Biennale.

The personal stories of the young people, who grew up in the favelas of Rio, touched the soul of the director of the Capig company and ignited his imagination. The main motivation of the dancers and the creator was a strong desire for expression and an aspiration to convey to the audience the passion for dancing that burns within them.

“Agave” is a dance about water, the essential component of our bodies and existence, the source of life and a precious asset that we must preserve, save and renew – a symbol of refreshment and renewal of life.

The dancers effortlessly combine styles such as hip-hop, capoeira, samba, bossa nova, baroque, and electronic music, and the result is amazing – a dance that is impressive in its beauty, full of joy and humor.

The show was produced in 2008, performed with great success around the world, and received rave reviews.

Choreography: Murad Marzouki, in collaboration with the dancers
