The orchestra, which consists of more than a hundred artists, will perform at the Mishkan in a celebration of music: the celebrated overture to Glinka’s opera Rossanne and Ludmila, Shostakovich’s Ninth Symphony, considered the most classic of his symphonic works, and the lyrical masterpiece, Rachmaninoff’s Second Symphony.
The Klassika Foundation for the Arts supports the concert as part of the “Russia Day” series, which features Russian orchestras, dancers and soloists on some of the world’s most famous stages, including the Barbican in London, Santa Cecilia in Rome, the Municipal Theater in São Paulo, the Forbidden City Hall in Beijing, as well as in New York, Paris and Geneva.
