Almost five decades after the release of the film “I Am Jerusalem” and on the occasion of the jubilee year for Jerusalem and the 70th anniversary of Israel, Yehoram Gaon returns in a show bearing the film’s name, in which he will perform songs from the film’s soundtrack alongside his best hits and songs written about Jerusalem and made famous by his performance, including: “Light and Jerusalem”, “In Your Gates, Jerusalem”, “Zion, I Will Be Yours”, “Beit Avi” and more.
Yehoram Gaon, winner of the Israel Prize for Hebrew singing, grew up and was educated in the Beit Hakerem neighborhood of Jerusalem. His childhood memories were the source of inspiration for the autobiography filmed about him and his Jerusalemite family, the film “I Am Jerusalemite.”
The film, which was released in 1971, was accompanied by songs performed by Gaon, written by Haim Hefer and Dovi Seltzer, including songs that became hits, such as: “Here I am,” “Minister Moshe Montefiore,” “Above the Peak of Mount Scopus,” “At Your Gates, Jerusalem,” and more, which he will perform in the show along with other songs.
The show will be accompanied by an innovative artistic video display on LED screens, including rare video clips from the filming of the original film, alongside original materials specially designed for the show.
In the show, Gaon hosts singers Rami Kleinstein and Shuli Rand for duets of his songs, who will also perform another song from their hits.
Yehoram is accompanied by a huge orchestra of 50 musicians, in an innovative and updated musical production, under the musical direction of Yuval Stoppel.
