The Gewandhaus Orchestra is the oldest and most beloved civic symphony orchestra in the world, with a repertoire spanning 250 years. The Gewandhaus is a renowned orchestra that has greatly influenced world musical history, as evidenced by the countless performances and hundreds of recordings it has made around the world since 1916. As part of the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Israel and Germany, the Gewandhaus Orchestra, accompanied by the Thomas Leipzig Boys’ Choir, will tour Israel in December 2015. The performances will include Bach’s Christmas Mass, Cantatas Nos. 1, 2, 3, and 6.
