“The Drunkards” won the Russian National Prize at the Golden Mask Theatre Competition (2016) in the category “Best Directorial Work” (by Andrey Moguchi). “The Drunkards” also received the Jury Prize at the Golden Mask for the Best Cast (2016). The play won the “Theatre Lovers Spectators” award in St. Petersburg (2016).
“The Drunkards” is based on a play by contemporary director and playwright Ivan Virifiyev. The BDT Theater produced it and the director is Andrey Moguchi. “The Drunkards” conveys the message that each of us can learn to live without fear, can love, forgive and change the world around us. The play is a comedy.
